About Us!

Banyan is a startup based in NYC, focused on decentralized storage and generally making the internet less bad. We're massive fans of the local-first software movement. We are very in favor of people having sovereign ownership over their data- we're rolling usable tech out to normal people to support these technologies getting more market share.

Our mission is to put data under the control of the user and push computation and coordination to the edge where possible. We believe this will improve users' experiences and make the internet a better place in many ways.

We're venture-backed and have solid runway - about to announce our series A. We have relationships with a large number of Filecoin miners and are rolling our software out into their datacenters for both Filecoin-based cold storage and custom Banyan hot storage. We feel good about our plans to raise again (soon!). For now, we're focused on releasing and selling a decentralized, local-first, and encrypted cloud storage product that could rival Dropbox or Backblaze. We're layering in compute as we see demand. After that's selling... our next steps are pretty ambitious... Think P2P CDNs :)

About you!

We are looking for a high-energy crypto-native who is able to: sell, solutionarchitect, write technical content, give talks, run programs for Banyan/in Filecoin community, handle devrel and participate in the working groups on behalf of Banyan.

  • Community Engagement: Cultivate and nurture a vibrant developer community through online forums, social media, developer meetups, workshops, and conferences. Organize and participate in developer events to promote our platform and foster collaboration.
  • Content Creation: Create technical documentation, tutorials, sample code, and other educational resources to help developers understand and utilize our platform effectively. Contribute to our developer blog and other communication channels to share insights, updates, and best practices.
  • Feedback Loop: Gather feedback from developers, analyze trends, and communicate insights to relevant teams within our organization to drive product improvements and prioritize feature development.
  • Ecosystem Growth: Collaborate with strategic partners, third-party developers, and blockchain communities to expand our platform's ecosystem and drive adoption. Identify opportunities for integrations and collaborations that enhance the value proposition of our platform.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. An advanced degree or equivalent practical experience is a plus.
