Gousto is the UK’s leading recipe box company delivering precise ingredients, delicious recipes and a dollop of adventure to thousands of homes across the UK. As one of Europe’s fastest growing independent companies, you’ll be part of an exciting, expanding team and trailblazing company. Food and tech is at the heart of what we do. Using industry-leading technology, we’ve connected over 6 million people to delicious food so far. By 2025 we’ll have delivered 400 million delicious meals to dinner tables across the country... and we’re only just getting started. Join us and let’s dream big and deliver bigger. Unbox possibility. The Opportunity The code we write powers every aspect of our business from the menu recommendation engine to driving our supply chain. We are a scale up business on a steep growth trajectory, and with that comes the need to build a platform that can scale. In parallel to this, we need to expand our team, evolving effective tools and processes that ensure we can continue to deliver quality code at pace. Our platform is entirely cloud-based, and many of our backend services are now delivered via AWS Lambda. Our continuous delivery pipeline is fully automated and we release code to production multiple times a day. We’re in the process of moving our microservices architecture to containers. Your skills and experience will help us move to the next level. We know we’ve got lots of things right but we also have many things still to improve. Right now we’re working on creating robust seed data for testing and flexible developer environments for coding. We are making huge investments in technology, and plan to triple the size of our team to over 200 people in the next few years. As well as providing lots of career growth for our team, there will be plenty of opportunities to lead, mentor, influence and learn. What’s it really like to work here? We are customer-centric, data driven and outcome focused, using lean principles to work iteratively, experiment and learn fast. We work in cross-functional squads which we are slowly evolving to include business partners. This allows us to work more closely with our colleagues in food, operations and marketing, enabling greater alignment, collaboration and innovation. Our squads have a high level of autonomy to decide both what outcomes they should pursue and how they will achieve them. We believe in being agile rather than committing to a single framework. We have a set of lean and agile principles which we follow, but beyond that squads are empowered and encouraged to tailor their working processes. We discourage pigeon-holing which means our engineers are responsible for designing, writing, testing, deploying and maintaining their code in production. We don’t have QAs, and our architect works closely with squads to consult and collaborate. A devops culture is central to our way of working and our squads are responsible for running their solutions in production. Pairing and TDD are practices we champion and want to keep improving. 10% of our time is dedicated to tech innovation and we hold regular brown bags. We are committed to being involved in the wider tech community, hosting meetups, speaking at events and sharing learnings via our blog.

Have you or a close friend been affected by the housing affordability crisis? Do you believe good design can not only transform a space but also positively impact a person's mental state? By and large millennial homeowners are priced out of urban centers and turnkey homes. With 80% of homes now older than 20 years old, the options for affordable housing are typically dated and underwhelming. With rising costs of new construction, the need for renovations has never been higher, but the process hasn't changed in decades. Skipp is collaborating with world class architects, designers and technologists to not only make the process of transforming a home easier and affordable, but also fun and inspiring. We are an early stage, VC-backed startup, using AI and the latest in spatial technology to simplify the renovation process and democratize access to elevated designs for the everyday homeowner. In just hours Skipp's technology can generate real-time pricing, architect grade documentation, visualizations, and material schedules. With this approach, homeowners can not only access world-class designs for their actual space immediately, but can also efficiently manage their budget and have all the documentation needed for a streamlined RFP and construction process.

CMDTY is a well-funded startup that is using technology and data science to create efficiencies in the multi-trillion dollar industry of trading and logistics of physical commodities. We are currently a team of 8 women and 10 men, including technology experts who have revolutionised the ad-tech industry, and commodity experts with years of experience in metals and other commodities. We are based in New York, London, and remote. Having signed our first customer and working on our V1 launch, we are looking to hire more software engineers to join our team in London. What problem are we trying to solve? Think about how easy it is for you to purchase something online; you can see various options, filter by different features, and then once ordered, track where your delivery is until it arrives at your doorstep. It might surprise you that such systems do not yet exist for manufacturers or suppliers who are looking to buy or sell raw material, such as aluminium, copper or cocoa. Thanks to many challenges involved, particularly due to the size of the market, such purchases are currently extremely manual, using a combination of emails, phone calls, text messages to track purchases, sales and deliveries. What do we do? We are bringing market intelligence and pricing tools to small and big manufacturers and producers of physical commodities. By providing financing, price discovery and other facilities we are creating a more transparent marketplace and enabling companies to trade with new counterparties. We are improving logistic and tracking of commodities around the world. This mean optimised delivery routes, with benefits such as a reduction in carbon footprint. Where are we now? Who is the team? We officially started in September 2019, raising a Series A of $10mm. We signed our first customer in July 2020 and are in the process of launching the first version of our product. Our team is currently 8 women and 10 men with a variety of backgrounds, skills and seniorities - from graduates upwards. We have tech experts who have built systems that handle millions of transactions per second, commodity experts with 60 years combined experience in the industry, and award-winning design and product experts who have worked on complex software products for large enterprises. Our founding team has experience starting businesses in both the commodity and technology spaces, and has successfully built companies from the ground up to reach 1000+ employees.
